Te RITO Gardens on Stanmore Road

Raising Richmond from the Rubble from jaxdonald on Vimeo.

"This year the children at Richmond School have been learning about ‘L.I.F.E’ - How our Life Impacts the Future of our Earth. ‘By having a vision and caring about the Future, our life will have a positive impact.’ Our Richmond School children saw a need in our community and with support from the CDHB Health Promotor, we were able to develop purposeful thinking and meaningful learning experiences for our children. The outcome for the year’s teaching and learning was for our children to collectively develop an action plan that will make a positive impact in our school and wider community. Each class had the responsibility of developing an Action Plan to demonstrate this and thereby help care for our community. Our senior class took the opportunity to plan and create a Rubble Renewal project on the Methodist Church site on Stanmore Road. For the past few weeks they have worked tirelessly to prepare a community garden space for all to enjoy and care for."
